The concept of holography has been proposed in the 40s by Dennis Gabor for electron microscopy. Then the invention of the laser made possible its application for authentication or for optical metrology. The molecular identification by imaging techniques applied to macromolecules (polymer or deoxyribonucleic acid DNA) is a complementary alternative methods for analysis and sequencing. LETI has already developed an extreme Ultraviolet interferometer, (? = 13.5nm, 92eV) for ultimate lithography studies [1]. Holography is also applied to electron microscopy [2] for materials characterization and for X-ray tomography [3]. In the frame of the expertise of our institute, this topic offers to design an X-ray interferometer capable of producing holograms of physical objects such as nanostructures with block copolymer or with organic materials as DNA.
