When MINATEC researchers and professionals from the world of industry work together under the same roof, the resulting synergies help clarify objectives, facilitate innovation, and speed technology transfer. These joint project teams are governed by multi-year contracts signed with MINATEC.
The High Tech Building’s flexible design allows space and equipment to be scaled to the needs of individual projects while also protecting confidentiality. Projects can be continued right through to the prototyping phase, and even to zero-series production.
The High Tech Building, which is owned by mixed-economy enterprise SEM MINATEC Entreprises, represents an investment of €32 million and offers 11,000 square meters of workspace, including 20 clean room modules of 70 square meters each. At any given time, around a dozen companies, from SMEs to major corporations, have projects running at the High Tech Building. Some of them—mainly start-ups—have opted to set up their businesses right on site.
