The MINATEC Showroom showcases the cutting-edge research being done at the campus, in a way that is both concrete and easy to understand. The prototypes on display in the Showroom illustrate the state-of-the-art in energy harvesting, sensors, sensor networks, smart materials, and contactless antennae and transmission—just to name a few of the dozens of innovations that visitors can discover.
As new developments come out of MINATEC labs, the Showroom is enriched with prototypes for applications in industries spanning healthcare, housing, transportation, logistics, IT, energy, materials, and digital entertainment.
Keeping things under wraps in the basement
In addition to the main Showroom—located on the ground floor of the Integrative Industries Building (B2I)—MINATEC also offers a basement-level room for displaying confidential technology. This room is reserved exclusively for MINATEC partner businesses.
More than 1,000 people visit the MINATEC Showroom each year, either to tour the facility or to participate in innovation sessions with partners from the world of business. During these sessions, the prototypes on display serve as a catalyst for new ideas and unexplored areas of research.
