In 2007 Serma Technologies opened an office on the MINATEC campus offering consulting services in the microelectronics and nanostructures fields. The company has 500 employees and reports annual revenue of €42 million. The MINATEC office today employs 20 people and provides consulting services to customers worldwide. Export business accounts for 40% of total revenue, making the office one of Serma’s most international business units.

The Grenoble office has access to world-class resources—both its own and those of MINATEC’s nanocharacterization platform—which it uses via a partnership agreement.
The equipment includes electronic transmission microscopes, focus ion beams (FIB), scanning electron microscopes (SEM), electrostatic discharge (ESD) testers, sample preparation capabilities (mechanical, chemical, and laser), and failure analysis tools (EMMI, OBIRCH). Despite the complexity of the services available, most requests can be met within the very short timeframes required by customers’ manufacturing objectives.
