Beyond the conventional batteries: Design and development of high performance micro-batteries based on metallic nanowire anodes for technological applications
Offer N°: SL-DSM-15-0889
Over the past years, the development of novel and sophisticated miniaturized electronic devices in the field of biomedicine (e.g. neuro-stimulators), micro-robotics or micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) has triggered a revolution in the conception of energy storage. Nowadays, the use of conventional electrochemical energy storage devices results insufficient in order to provide reliable solutions to the technological challenges of our modern society.
Integrated microfluidic characterization device for the study of complex fluids
Offer N°: SL-DSM-15-0855
This research project takes place in the framework of the European Research Council (ERC Advanced) funding grant REE-CYCLE (for Rare Earth Element reCYCling with Low harmful Emissions). It aims at developing more environmentally friendly processes, and could therefore have a huge societal, economic and environmental impact at a global level.
Strain germanium and germanium tin alloy for laser light emission
Offer N°: SL-DSM-15-0798
We propose to explore the optical properties of nano and micro- objects made of germanium to evaluate their potential as an optical gain material.
Hardware acceleration for homomorphic encryption
Offer N°: SL-DRT-15-0179
The emergence of cloud computing and cyber-physical systems has led to consider security in data treatment as a major concern. In order to insure the confidentiality of managed data, encryption is today widely used.
In 2009, C. Gentry proposed the first fully homomorphic encryption system, enabling to compute preliminary encrypted data without decrypting them. This progress has opened a significant number of new industrial and research perspectives.
