Study of the optical and electrical properties of GaN-based single nanowires for nanoLEDs realization

Offer N°: SL-DSM-16-0903

Start date: 1 Jun 2016

III-V semiconductors of nitride family (GaN, InN, AlN and their alloys) exhibit remarkable properties in view of light emission in a wavelength range spanning from UV to visible. They presently are the most dynamical branch of semiconductor industry, partly due to the rapid development of white light emitting diodes (LEDs) which could rapidly turn to be the dominant lightning technology in the near future.

Blood biomarkers quantification by agglutination of autologous Red Blood Cells in real time: Point-of-Care applications

Offer N°: SL-DSM-16-0902

Start date: 1 Nov 2016

The main goal of this PhD project concerns the development of medical device for the Point-of-Care (POC) diagnostic of biomarkers in order to perform personalized medicine and to help for the maintain at home of patients. In this domain, the start-up Avalun is developing a LabPad, a Point-of-Care device for multi-parametric diagnostics based on lensless optical detection of the Red Blood Cells (RBC) agglutination triggered by bi-specific ligands.

RF magnetometer for magnetic resonance imaging in a weak magnetic field

Offer N°: SL-DRT-16-0866

Start date: 1 Oct 2016

CEA-LETI's has a long-standing expertise in the field of Helium optically-pumped magnetometers. In the frame of the space project SWARM carried out in collaboration with CNES and ESA, space-qualified atomic magnetometers (TRL8) were designed, realized and characterized. These magnetometers launched in 2013 and dedicated to the measurement of the Earth's magnetic field are based on the paramagnetic resonance of helium 4 atoms (in a gaseous state).

In situ monitoring of the growth and optimization of 2D materials using synchrotron X-ray

Offer N°: SL-DSM-16-0847

Start date: 1 Oct 2016

Two-dimensional materials are of highly significant interest for many applications in nano-opto-electronics. Graphene is the prototype of this material family however the absence of gap limits its potential applications e.g. for making transistors logic field effect. Recently transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) have emerged in the growing field of 2D materials and give rise to a new area of research.
