This fall Grenoble Institute of Technology-Phelma will kick-off France’s first work-study program for micro and nanoelectronic systems design. This program was developed in association with Grenoble-area high-tech businesses and was approved by the regional government in April 2013.

The program will give engineers the theoretical knowledge and real-world experience to design integrated systems. It aims to fill the void of such skills, particularly acute in RF and analog systems.

The school has almost completed the admissions process for the first class of some 16 students, who will split their time between on-site work and classroom study. The companies participating in the program range from small businesses to large organizations like E2V, STMicroelectronics, and the CEA.
