Graphene: Léti explores SiC sublimation

Just two years after first starting to grow graphene layers using SiC sublimation, Léti, in collaboration with INAC, has already established a new benchmark for the technique. The lab is now tackling the development of original components like suspended graphene beams using selective electrochemical etching of the SiC substrate. A team of around twelve people is working on the material, with a particular focus on stacked graphene sheets grown using the sublimation process. The team’s aim is to identify, count, and separate the sheets using an appropriate thin-layer transfer technology. The team’s other top priorities include minimizing defects, better controlling layer homogeneity, and attempting to grow larger-sized sheets.
