This year’s meeting with Phelma’s industrial partners was held earlier than usual, taking place on November 26, 2009, at both Maison MINATEC and the school’s campus. The date was moved forward to accommodate third-year students’ culminating project, which starts in February, and second-year students’ ten-week internship, which starts in May. Around 50 people from sixteen companies attended the meeting, including representatives from Technip, Rolls-Royce, Safran, Areva, and Altran. The morning session featured four general presentations, while the afternoon program included seven half-hour industry-specific presentations. Students had ample opportunities to mingle with business people throughout the day, both informally and at company booths. Grenoble Institute of Technology-Phelma held its first meeting with industrial partners in January 2009, and plans to make the meetings a regular event.
