Grenoble Institute of Technology ranked France’s top engineering school for research
Industrie et Technologies magazine recently ranked 141 French engineering schools in terms of their research activities. Grenoble Institute of Technology came in at the top of the list— ahead of big names like L’Ecole des mines, Polytechnique, Arts et Métiers, and Les Ponts et chaussées—thanks to its consistent performance. The school was ranked third for the amount of research contracts (€19.94 million), second for the number of patents filed since 2005 (142), and first for the number of PhDs and post-docs (877 total). The magazine remarked: “Grenoble Institute of Technology has made wise decisions, such as teaming with CEA to create MINATEC in 2002, heading the Institut Carnot on new energies since 2007, and planning to soon build a new energy innovation center.”
