ICI INFO® brings enhanced reality to mobile phones
The MINATEC IDEAs Laboratory recently teamed forces with the École nationale supérieure de création industrielle (ENSCI) to develop an application called ICI INFO®. Offered by mobile phone operator Bouygues Telecom, this application helps users find whatever they are looking for in their immediate vicinity. ICI INFO® uses the phone’s camera to pick up information about services and businesses selected by the user, and then superimposes data like a company’s address, phone number, and business hours onto the image. A simple click is all it takes to switch the display from street-view mode to map mode, where directions can guide users to their destination. ICI INFO® employs motion sensing and simple-touch navigation to leverage the latest technologies like Android, GPS, accelerometers, magnetometers, and the 3G standard.
