The MINATEC Annual Meeting for Grad Students will be held on March 19, 2010. If you are a PhD or post-doc student and you want to grab potential employers’ attention, this is one event you won’t want to miss! Students will be given an opportunity to record a 15-second video CV, which will then be played at the Midi MINATEC brown bag lunch attended by industry professionals. The goal is to get them to check out students’ displays and, ultimately, want to get to know a student better! Last year the videos were very popular, resulting in three job offers and one post-doc research opportunity. The second MINATEC Annual Meeting for Grad Students is expected to draw around 50 industry professionals, and will also feature talks and workshops on topics like CV writing, job search tips, entrepreneurship, and the role of PhD graduates in industry. The event organizers will hold a video shoot in late February to help students record their videos.
