MINATEC raises teacher awareness of research
MINATEC regularly engages in school outreach initiatives. This year, the campus is partnering with the regional physical science education board to offer a continuing development program in the field of research to local high school physics and chemistry teachers. The program has already attracted an impressive 160 applicants. A professor and teacher trainer from the nearby high school at Europole in Grenoble will run a two-day workshop for 35 teachers.
Two groups of participants, one at Monge high school in Chambéry and one at Europole high school in Grenoble, will learn about the physics and chemistry involved in everyday objects. They will then get two days of hands-on experience at the CIME Nanotech Nanomonde platform, where they will design new experiments for use in their high school classes.
