NatX-ray opens in San Diego
Start-up NatX-ray has just opened a U.S. subsidiary in San Diego, California—right in the heart of one of the global biotech industry’s most active hubs. The subsidiary’s primary aim will be to sell consumables for protein crystallography, such as phasing kits (made in France) and crystallization plates, including a new plate designed by IBS and Germany-based Greiner BioOne. The new plate is currently being tested by a large panel of users, including the Scripps Research Institute, a major center for biomedical research.
NatX-ray will hire its first American employee once sales start to take off in the U.S. The subsidiary is a streamlined organization with a simplified legal structure that will give NatX-ray an affordable way of eventually penetrating the Canadian and Asian markets.
