Barbara de Salvo heads the Léti Memory Lab, which works with companies such as STMicroelectronics, Numonyx, Atmel, Freescale, Infineon, and NXP. She has just published a 232-page reference work titled Silicon Non-Volatile Memories, Paths of Innovation. Her book begins with a comprehensive overview of the global memory market—the segment of the microelectronics market where competition is the fiercest—and its major players. The second part of the book addresses technology, with a brief review of the main elements and promising new developments. Barbara based the book on research she performed to obtain her French national research director accreditation. The book is intended primarily for students, academics, and scientists working in the field of memory.
