Current sensors: big magnetoresistance, small price
Leti has developed a low-cost, compact, 16-channel current sensor offering excellent linearity, resolution, and isolation properties (with more than 1kV between the processor and sensor). This advancement uses giant magnetoresistance (GMR) systems and direct deposition of the current lines on the read circuit.
Leti developed the sensor in response to current measurement needs for fuel cell applications. The use of GMR compensates for external magnetic fields and ensures consistent measurements in unstable environments. The sensor could also be used for automotive battery monitoring.
