Grenoble Institute of Technology promotes equal opportunity

The fifth ACE (Equal Opportunity in Science Education) Day will be held at MINATEC on May 11, 2012. Initiated by Grenoble Institute of Technology with the backing of the Rhône-Alpes Region, ACE aims to encourage all high-school students—especially those from underprivileged backgrounds—to apply for admission to science and engineering programs.
In the run up to the event, the 150 students from 10 Grenoble-area schools participating in ACE will be divided into small groups, each tutored by a Grenoble Institute of Technology student (from Phelma, ENSE3, GI, or Esisar). The groups will be required to carry out a science-related project, like building a weather balloon, rocket, or robot; the results of their work will then be presented in a poster session at ACE Day.
