Grenoble Institute of Technology launches FIRST Tech Challenge in France

This year Grenoble Institute of Technology will launch France’s inaugural edition of the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Tech Challenge, a fun international competition that has been running in the US since 1992. The competition aims to generate interest in careers in science and technology. High-school students participating in the challenge must design a working robot from a set of supplies provided.
The Rhône-Alpes region is well represented, with seven teams competing. Some 50 students from Grenoble Institute of Technology’s Phelma, Esisar, Industrial Engineering, and ENSE3 schools have volunteered to help the competitors throughout the challenge, from designing their robot to putting together a perfect presentation for the competition on June 1, 2012.
