X-ray colour imaging with flat panel sources: a new architecture for tomography

The emergence of new distributed X-ray sources opens new perspectives in medical imaging. The objective is to propose an innovative architecture for tomographic acquisition associating the new distributed RX sources coupled to a small area spectrometric detectors with high spatial resolution. Such an inverse geometry tomography architecture will benefit from the contribution of spectrometric detectors in terms of image quality, dose reduction and quantification of biological tissues, while relaxing the constraint on the size of the sensor.

The work of the PostDoc will be to define the image acquisition chain and to develop and implement advanced reconstruction algorithms taking advantage of the information provided by the spectral detector. Problems related to the modality, such as low projection number, incomplete fields of view, metal artefacts or scattered radiation are to be taken into account.
