Simulation and modelling of interconnect networks for CMOS quantum bit systems

Publié le : 8 octobre 2019

Context :
Because it may revolutionize the high performance computing systems, nowadays, silicon quantum computing technologies receive an increasing interest. Based on quantum bit (Qubit), the large potential of those technologies stems from the use of CMOS know-how to adapt the semiconductor qubit in large scale. To achieve efficient control and read-out of qubit with high frequency signals, modelling of interconnect network is required.
The proposed training course objective is to evaluate the impact of electrical routing on qubit performances. We will develop a model of interconnect networks of growing complexity (1D, 2D and 3D) integrated on a silicon substrate with a dedicated Back-End-Of-Line for quantum bit.

Expected work:
-Use dedicated simulation software to assess performances of electronic routing
-Suggest technology and design opportunities for Qubit interconnect network
-Develop a simplified model of the chosen interconnect networks and define relevant figures of merit in various domains: energy, frequency bandwidth, electromagnetic coupling,…
-Using this model, evaluate the control and reading efficiency of microwave signals on Qubit
