MINATEC’s Franco-American Summer Conference

The annual French-American Workshop at MINATEC

The annual French-American Workshop is financed by the US Consulate in Lyon, the French Embassy in Washington, D.C., and the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes regional government. Students, scientists, members of Grenoble’s American community, and French and American diplomats and financers all take part in the event. The goals are to develop a French-American research network and promote opportunities for cooperation in education, research, and innovation.

The French-American Workshop is held every year in mid-June in Grenoble during the GIANT International Internship Programme, so that GIIP interns and students at schools in Grenoble can build their trans-Atlantic networks.

The program varies from year to year, but generally includes:

  • Science lectures
  • Pitch workshops for students and junior research scientists
  • Testimonials and presentations by researchers highlighting their experiences in the US and France
  • Tours of major research facilities on the GIANT campus
